Building Immune Resiliency — A note from Melinda

We are grateful to remain open while California is in the purple tier, and look forward to continuing providing healthcare to our community during this time.

We are following all state and county guidelines in order to offer the safest possible environment in which to care for our patients.

We recommend building immune resiliency at all times, but even more so during a pandemic.

A vaccine may not be available for many more months, and with the potential of getting sick at the forefront of many people’s minds, we urge everyone to consider how your body might respond if you do become unwell.

Whether it’s the COVID-19 virus, the common cold, or the seasonal flu, it’s important for each of our immune system’s to behave and respond as best they can, should you become compromised. For this reason, we’re remaining open and available to provide care for you.

Reducing inflammation in the body, managing pain, healing our gut, getting adequate sleep and rest, and modulating the immune system is at the top of our list of recommendations, alongside doing whatever possible to limit and regulate the effects of stress. We are here to support you in your health journey during this time.

All of our providers have been hard at work to stay abreast of functional and integrative treatments for the COVID-19 virus. It’s unlike any virus that we’ve seen in the past in the way that it affects various organs and systems in the body. We are learning too of the potential for many to suffer post-COVID symptoms (post-COVID syndrome).

While we are still learning how to support the system fully, we do know some strategies that can be safely implemented to allow a return to balance.

Functional Medicine for Immune Resilience

If you are wanting to learn more about how to improve immune resiliency, please schedule a Functional Medicine appointment with me— either tele-medicine or in-person appointment. (If you have been exposed, diagnosed, or recovering, please schedule a phone consultation only).

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing some insights on how to develop and build immune resiliency with some tools that may provide support if you do get sick.

Below you will find some of our recommendations for immune-supportive supplements.
